Nashville Market Part three

Nashville Market:  part the third
Market buds
ahhhhhh....

Finally home--during the wee hours of the morning...
Yesterday just wasn't the day to be traveling by air, and not that much better traveling by car back in Utah.  After a 2 hour delay in Phoenix, we arrived back in Salt Lake at 12:15 with about 10,000 other people.  The baggage claim looked like a refugee center--which in a way it was.  Teri went on in the snow battling the overpacked shuttle to get her car from long term parking, and I was faced with loading out 4 gigantic bags and boxes--all hovering on the 50 pound limit. I had to muster all my strength to pull each one off the baggage carousel  and then I would let the next one ride around an extra time while I got up my courage to haul it off.  Then I wedged the airport luggage cart between the garbage can and my foot so that it wouldn't go wheeling off by itself.  I got the large blue suitcase on and then Teri's new case which is roughly the size of a small automobile, and I was feeling pretty darn good.  My next obstacle was the 2 large boxes which were stuffed full--49.9 lbs--and then taped together disguised as one item.  I had to lift it up and then manage to swing it high enough in the air to land on the 2 cases which were already on the cart.  Success after the 3rd try.  Then I had to consider swinging my 49.999999 lb duffle bag on top of the box on top of the suitcases on top of the cart.  Luckily for me, after my second try, someone took pity on me and put it up there. When I finally crawled into bed, I just lay there groaning.  Even my hair ached.  But today all is good and Teri and Lynnette have had fun unpacking all the great treasures--each one with its own story and adventure to tell.  Always a good day.

So here are some fun pics that Teri took of darling new things--and their creators.  I hope you love them as much as we did.

Plum Street Samplers
Paulette's room is always so inviting, she was stitching on a piece and it was fun to sit down for a minute and visit.    Her new things are very spring-y and fun.  You will love them.  Teri has the linen in for them so get ready to stitch.

Frakter
$15.00

I just loved this odd piece, and I really want to stitch it.  I think it is Teri and me even though these ladies seem to be glaring at each other.  Theresa stitched it on gauze, but I will be using something a bit bigger.

This is the start of a new series by Shakespeare's Peddler.  It will be a long and thin sampler and will have a variety of Bible bands, like Noah's ark, Adam and Eve, etc... The finished size--I am told--will be longer than And They Sinned and each section can be stitched on its own or as part of the sampler.  I love this idea, and can't  wait to see more

From the Heart by Wendy Petross
Wendy--who is a fellow westerner (Idaho)--as been a friend for many years.  She came to the market this year and had a room on our same floor.  I visited with her off and on, and was struck how sweet and lovely her designs for this market were.  They have a gentle simplicity and calmness that is very appealing.

There is another great sampler in this set, but I have lost the photo  I will keep looking.

Now I have come back to the blog because Teri kept falling asleep at the computer.  So now you get the picture.  That is why we work so well together--one of us is always asleep.
Tomorrow we will continue to post great pictures.  Don't you think she did a sweet job taking photos of all these wonderful projects.  We still have tons more projects to share with you, plus Teri said that she has fantastic accessory items to show as well.  Sleep fast and we'll see you tomorrow night.  T

Nashville Part Two

Nashville Market:  part the second

Dear Friends,
It is 12:00 AM, and Tina is sound asleep in the chair, waiting for me to load all the photos for tonight.  I only zipped around for a bit today, as our booth/room was busy all day.  But I did pick up so many wonderful things that I wanted to share a few of them.  Please remember our market week end at the shop will start on Thursday and go all week-end.  So... here are just a few things I wanted you to see.  I have a huge box under the table I need to price, maybe tomorrow if I can just get my sister up and back to work.  What a piker!  I will definitely take more photos and post again tomorrow night.  Sorry no prices yet--I will update tomorrow.

Classic Colorworks threads set
$6.60

These are the new threads from Classic Colorworks, they are sooooooooo gorgeous!!!  I am sure the creamy one is just for us...Shabby Sheep???  All three are used in a darling new free pattern from Diane at Little House Needleworks.  It is an adorable spring sheep.  You will get a copy of this sweet patterns with these scrumptious new cotton threads.  I am thinking of just the perfect fabric...  picked it up here at market.  We visited with Ronny Williams the new owner of Classic Colorworks, and he was so darling.  We talk on the phone, but it was great to put a name with a face.

Down in the Valley
by Blackbird

Alma and Barb have fabulous new projects that make me want to just sit down and stitch.  This one is a Reward of Merit and is finished on the top of a candle stick.  They are brilliant.

My Pink Rose
by Blackbird

This second reward of merit is  just as wonderful.  I always love the polka dot fabric, so this one is great, great, great!

In Friendship's Way
By Blackbird

These next few photos are from their new book.  Of course it is amazing--filled with beautiful projects and great finishing ideas.  My favorite is this tiny basket pincushion hanging from a bird.  I want this! The box of strawberry pincushions is so sweet, and 2 samplers are also in this marvelous book.

All of these designs are in their new book.

Chalkboard series
by Hands On Designs

This is a fun new monthly series. Pat from R & R has dyed a great dark gray linen in a 30 count.  I have come up with a positively brilliant way to finish these sweet projects... Can't wait to get one stitched and finished.  You will love it.  We will be stitching spring.  Each pattern uses Sampler thread Chalk and one other color.  Very fun!

Square-ology
by Hand on Designs and Just Another Button Company

This is a fun new series that will be coming out every couple of months. They are postcard size patterns and have fun embellishments.

Oh, Bee-Hive

Another fun pattern from Hands On designs.  What is better than bees... well maybe sheep, but bees are a close second.

There are so many things about the market that we love.  Everyone coming together with a common love of needlework.  Visiting with darling friends, fabulous shop owners, and inspiring designers from all over the world.  Being totally inspired by amazing designs.  Laughing until our sides hurt.  Everyone here is so sweet and kind and thrilled to just be together again for a few short days.

Well I want to start sorting through my purchases from the last few days, and start pricing. I could see if something is on TV to watch while I price, but I have hung pictures over the TV screen and can only see about 2 inches on the bottom of the screen.   Tina might be waking up............. nope she is really out.  ...until tomorrow,  Teri

PS  Here is a wonderfully huge sampler stitched by Gigi of Gigi's samplers (I am bringing home some of her fabulous sampler charts - not this one, it is not available) She always brings the most amazing samplers to inspire us.    It is as tall as I am., and I just love looking at it.

Nashville Market, 2015- part:  the first

Hi Friends,
Here we are almost ready for our first great day of the market.  Teri spent all night last night decorating the outside of our window.  Doesn't it look good?  Sadly, I fell sound asleep inside in the living room and could only vaguely in the depths of my subconscious here her chatting with everyone who wandered past.  I think she did a perfect job even without me.  Today we spent setting up our room and getting ready for tomorrow.  It was a lot of fun and the room looks quite awesome.  There are so many wonderful designers here that it will be exciting to share with you all of our treasures.

Everyone hangs a sign outside their room so that it is easier to find them.  Unfortunately, when we went to unpack the box that holds our sign, we realized that it is still sitting back in Utah in the cupboard under the stairs.  So tonight at ten we had to make our own sign with markers and chalk.  Pat and Norma are helping Teri hang the finished sign from the railing.  Doesn't it look like they are in a candle factory.  That is funny.
